Pamela Gerke (b. 1956)

Pamela Gerke received her Bachelor of the Arts degree from the University of California at Berkeley and a Multiple Subjects Teaching Credential from Pacific Oaks College in Pasadena, California. She was Music Director of the Seattle Women's Ensemble from 1992-'98 (a GALA chorus), conducted Shawna Carol's Goddes Chant in Seattle, and recently served as interim Music Director of the Seattle Peace Chorus. She has composed and arranged music for numerous choirs, as well as for plays and musicals. Pamela is currently conducting the world premeire of her own show, Temple Dreams: A Jazz Opera in One Act, in the Temple of the Great Goddess, 2001 b.c.e. (for women's chorus, soloists, dancers, and jazz combo).

Pamela is also Artistic Direstor and Playright for Kids Action Theater in Seattle since founding the program in 1998, has written and/or directed over thirty children's plays and is author of several books in the field of children's theater. Pamela currently divides her time between composing, conducting, writing and teaching piano and drama.
