Eric Helmuth is a composer of lyrical, accessible concert and church music for voices and various instruments. His commissions have premiered in such venues as New York's Carnegie Hall and Symphony Hall, Boston, and several of his works have been commercially recorded.
Eric has written commissioned works for a number of GALA choruses, including the Boston Gay Men's Chorus, New York City Gay Men's Chorus, Boston Women's Rainbow Chorus, Gay Men's Chorus of Washington, D.C., Desert Voices and the Atlanta Feminist Women's Chorus. Alongside composing and a full-time non-musical career, he is active as a freelance pianist and church organist in the Boston area.
Eric graduated from Cedarville College in 1987 with a degree in piano and organ performance, and received an M.A. in psychology from the University of Akron. He coaches with composer David Conte and is engaged in postgraduate theory and composition study at Boston University School for the Arts.
