Kenneth P. Howard (Born: January 18, 1963 in Indianapolis, Indiana) grew up in North Carolina and began formal musical training with piano lessons at age seven. Throughout junior high and high school, he accompanied church and school choral ensembles. Ken received his Bachelors and Masters degrees from Westminster Choir College in Princeton, NJ, where his studies focused on piano (with the late William Cheadle), voice (with Daniel Pratt), choral conducting (with the late Frauke Haasemann, Allen Crowell, and Joseph Flummerfelt) and accompanying (with the late Glenn F. Parker). During his matriculation, he participated as a chorister in the Festival of Two Worlds in Charleston, SC and Spoleto, Italy in productions of "La Fanciulla del West" and "Parsifal" as well as concerts with the New York Philharmonic (under Zubin Mehta, Kurt Mazur, Rafael Kubelik, Leonard Bernstein), Vienna Philharmonic (under Claudio Abbado), the Philadelphia Orchestra (under Riccardo Muti), and the Leipzig Gewandhaus Orchestra (under Kurt Mazur).

Ken's association with the New Jersey Men's Chorus spans its over ten-year history, having served as its assistant conductor from 1994-97 and from 1998 until his departure in 2001. As a free lance vocal coach, accompanist and musical director, he has collaborated in several community theater musical productions throughout central New Jersey. During the day, he serves as an assistant to the legal editor for the New Jersey state legislature.
