Brenda David began singing as a small child, joining her first select choir at the age of ten. With parents who were accomplished vocalists themselves, Brenda honed her abilities to harmonize and developed smooth, rich vocals at a very young age.
In 1992, while performing in a talent showcase in Seattle night clubs, Brenda began collaborating with Seattle composer Mark D. Richards. They wrote and recorded over 25 songs together, releasing Brendaís solo CD Christmas House in 1999. Their country song Angel earned a Certificate of Achievement from BillboardÆ in 1994. Brenda continues to work as a studio musician at MDR Studios in Kent and performs regularly as a soloist at weddings, memorials, and community events. She and Mark are working on a second CD, Heart Strings of Blue.
Brenda performed with David Madduxí musical-theatre troupe, Pro Homo Voci, for five years and had the privilege of composing and co-writing a show with Maddux as well. The song Getting Married was penned by Brenda, Maddux and Richards ñ the Maddux arrangement can be heard on Pro Homo Vociís Itís A Queer, Queer, Queer, Queer World CD, which was released in 1999.
Brenda was a founding member of the Seattle six member womenís a cappella ensemble, The Girlfriends, and is a founding and performing member of the Seattle Womenís Chorus. She is a member of the production team for SWC and co-wrote music and script for the first half of SWCís 2008 Spring show, Vixen Fiction, with composer Eric Lane Barnes. Brenda was thrilled to perform as one of the back up singers for singer/songwriter Cris Williamson at a special performance at the 2008 GALA Choral Festival in Miami, Florida.
A paralegal by day, Brenda resides in Seattle with her partner Shawn, and Theo the wonder pup.
