Kevin Francis Finn (b. 1960)

Kevin Francis Finn is a 1983 graduate of the Hartt School of Music at the University of Hartford and a 1978 graduate with a certificate in Piano Performance from New York City's High School for the Performing Arts. While at the Hartt School he studied piano with Luiz de Moura Castro, and composition with Edward Diemente and Donald Harris. Kevin has worked primarily as a musical director/conductor and keyboardist for regional, national touring, and Broadway musicals. He most recently served as the conductor for Sir Andrew Lloyd Webber's new production of Joseph and the Amazing Techincolor(c) Dreamcoat starring Donny Osmond.

As a composer his music has been performed in Washington, Ft. Lauderdale, Boston, Chicago, Toronto and New York. His song "Keep Christmas in Your Heart" was recorded by The Seattle Men's Chorus. His creative life took a turn for the infinitely better when he teamed up with GALA lyricist and favorite, Craig Sturgis, (The Long Christmas Dinner, and Tommorrow Shall be my Shopping Day!). They have collaborated on several original choral works, all available through Yelton Rhodes Music. As well, their first complete musical "A Small Circle of Friends" is nearing completion and will receive it's first reading in New York.

Kevin's classical music has been described as "fresh, and new, yet with an ear toward the familiar. Never, old-fashioned, but not far from the heart of this century." - Staten Island Advance. Violist Heather Portor of Boston, and a frequent guest artist with the Israel Philharmonic said of his Sonata for Viola and Piano, Op. 3, Nr. 2, "Kevin's music is instantly accessible to the first time listener, and simply a blast to play."

Kevin is currently a VIsiting Artist at Millikin University in Decatur, Illinois, teaching Music Theory and Ear Training, and Music Theater History and Repertoire.
